HTC Magic

HTC Magic Overview:

The HTC Magic is the second EVER Android Phone and first launched on Vodafone in Europe on May 1st. With a sexy, slim form factor, 3.2 inch touchscreen and beautiful HVGA resolution, the Magic greatly increased the physical attraction to Android.

HTC Magic

The 3.2 Megapixel camera works wonders for picture happy phone fans and NEW with the HTC Magic is the introduction of Video Recording on the Android platform.

Another feature brand new to Android that is ushered in with the HTC Magic is the software keyboard. The Magic satisfies touchscreen lovers by being Android's first touchscreen only device and therefore requires a software keyboard, something which was absent from the first Android phone. The HTC Magic also has a trackball for precision navigating when browsing the web and other applications.

The HTC Magic is destined to dazzle the mobile world by pulling off the type of tricks that only Android can... congratulations to HTC on coming in at #1 and #2 with the first Android phones on the market!

HTC Magic Reviews:

Gizmodo: Close To Perfection
Despite opening up their initial first impressions by saying the software keyboard is a bit cramped, Jesus Diaz from Gizmodo said the HTC Magic was great... close to perfection, in fact! Not to mention the software keyboard will likely be improved over time via OTA updates.
TechRadar: Hands On HTC Magic
They claim the Magic is super light weight, has an improved touchscreen response, is a breeze to use and will probably be the best Android phone on the market for quite awhile. Although slightly disappointed with the size of the buttons on the touchscreen keyboard, there are more than enough positives to make up for it.
ZDNET Austalia: Magic Is Good iPhone Alternative
Mentioning the thinner, lighter body as positives, ZDNET acknowledges this is due to the lack of a physical keyboard. But that might not be a bad thing... there are plenty of people out there who want an iPhone-like device but simply don't want an iPhone. These folks have found their calling with the HTC Magic.
Vodafone Reviews HTC Magic
It is a little unfair when a carrier reviews their own exclusive Android device but nonetheless that is what Vodafone has done with glitzy headings like "Make The Magic Yours", "Go Google" and "Smooth Operator". For whatever it is worth, get the good word from the source itself.
CNET: Excellent
CNET gives the Magic 4 out of 5 stars which is an "Excellent" rating saying, "the Android device for which we've been waiting. A few complaints remain, but its eye-catching design and interface, improved features, and satisfying performance make us excited about Android's full potential."
IntoMobile: 3.5 out of 5
Calling it "a good start", IntoMobile says they enjoy the Magic's outstanding virtual keyboard, solid/stylish construction, and smooth user interface.
TechRadar: 4 out of 5
Giving 4 out of 5 stars, TechRadar does an extensive 12 page review. Their verdict? "this is a very good upgrade from HTC, which has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the last 18 months, and all we can do now is salivate at the prospect of a year chock-full with new Android handsets. However, they'll all have to go the extra mile to beat this new kid on the block."
Pocket-Lint: 9 out of 10
Almost perfect! Giving the Magic 9 out of 10 stars, Pocket-Lint had this to conclude about the 2nd Android: "The HTC Magic is a very enjoyable and fun handset to use. It’s quick, nimble and has the potential to be so much more thanks to the addition of Market – Android's app store."
GSM Arena: Good Buy
Enjoying the newness of Android and the attractive package, GSM Arena notes that: "the HTC Magic is a reasonable purchase now, and has the potential to a become a bargain in the future."
