Qik app for Android updated, now with DVD quality for DROID users

Live streaming on your Android is now a little nicer thanks to the team behind the Qik app. The app, which was originally released a few weeks back as a private beta is now available in the Market for anyone who wants to share what they are doing with the world. The most recent update brings the version up to 0.1.56 and includes some bug fixes as well as some improvements to the performance and battery consumption.

Of course, for those using a Motorola DROID, this release comes with a little extra news because those users will be able to capture video at DVD quality (720 x 480).

Finally, according to the announcement post for this update, those that have been using the beta app will need to uninstall that previous version and then install the Market version.

Additionally, this update also added support for Chinese language. As far as setting the video resolution to the DVD quality, that can be toggled in the settings portion of the app.

A search for ‘Qik” in the Market will give you the app for download.
